We, as charismatic Christians, affirm our beliefs in accordance with the following statement:
1. We believe in the triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who exist eternally as one God yet distinct in persons.
- Matthew 28:19 - "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
2. We believe in the divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scriptures, the Old and New Testaments, as the Word of God, infallible and without error in all matters of faith and practice.
- 2 Timothy 3:16-17 - "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."
3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension to heaven, and His imminent return in power and glory.
- John 1:1,14 - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth."
- Philippians 2:6-11 - This passage describes Jesus' humble obedience to the Father and His exaltation as Lord.
4. We believe in the salvation of humanity through faith in Jesus Christ alone, by grace through faith, not by works, and that salvation brings about regeneration by the Holy Spirit, leading to a new life in Christ.
- Ephesians 2:8-9 - "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."
5. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a subsequent experience to salvation, empowering believers for witness and service, and in the gifts of the Holy Spirit as active and available for the edification of the church.
- Acts 1:8 - "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
- 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 - This passage lists various spiritual gifts given by the Holy Spirit.
6. We believe in the priesthood of all believers, with each member of the body of Christ being uniquely gifted and called to ministry.
- 1 Peter 2:9 - "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light."
7. We believe in the importance of the local church as the primary expression of the body of Christ on earth, committed to worship, fellowship, discipleship, evangelism, and social responsibility.
- Hebrews 10:24-25 - "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."
8. We believe in the reality of spiritual warfare and the existence of a personal devil, but also in the victory of Christ over all powers and authorities.
- Ephesians 6:12 - "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places."
9. We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, and the eternal destiny of believers in heaven and unbelievers in hell.
- Revelation 20:12-15 - This passage describes the judgment of the dead before the great white throne.
In all these things, we rely on the guidance and empowerment of the Holy Spirit, who leads us into all truth and enables us to live lives that glorify God and reflect His love to the world.
